Lord, we have laid this person into Your hands and into the earth from which we all came. The grief is real. The loss is real. And yet our faith is also real — real enough to say that death is not the end, and that You are the resurrection and the life.
Comfort those who mourn. Give them the gift of tears, the gift of memory, and in time, the gift of peace. Amen.
